Driving Directions to the Chattooga River:
 DIRECTIONS TO NOC's CHATTOOGA RIVER OUTPOST
All Chattooga River trips depart from our Chattooga River Outpost, located 13 Miles east of Clayton, GA, or about 108 miles northeast of Atlanta, and 50 miles west of Greenville, South Carolina.

NOC recommended driving directions to each individual outpost are the easiest and quickest routes on the most clearly marked roads and highways. Please cross-check any GPS, Mapquest, Google, Yahoo, AAA or other online routings with our directions and online maps. Note: NOC's Chattooga River Outpost is off the beaten path. We are not allowed to put up directional signs along the roads. Please make sure all members of your group have these directions and follow them closely.
From Highlands, NC -Recommended route: take Hwy 106 West (towards Dillard, GA) to US 441 (about 14 miles). Turn left onto US 441 South towards Clayton, GA (approximately 7 miles). Then follow directions From Clayton, GA below.
From Walhalla, SC -Go to Mountain Rest, SC on US 28 and take a left onto Chattooga Ridge Rd. just after the Mountain Rest Post Office. You will see a sign for US 76 at the turn. This is an easy turn to miss so watch carefully. If you pass the Mountain Rest Baptist Church on your left, you've missed the turn. NOC's Chattooga meeting place is 6.7 miles on your left after the turn.
From Clayton, GA -Turn onto US 76 east at the Chevron gas station which is across the street from McDonald's. After 8 miles you will cross a bridge over the Chattooga. Continue 2.1 miles past the bridge and turn left on Chattooga Ridge Road. You will see a sign there for Oconee State Park. NOC's Chattooga meeting place is 2.6 miles on the right.
From Westminster, SC -Take US 76 West towards Clayton, GA. Go 15.7 miles (you will pass Long Creek, SC) and turn right on Chattooga Ridge Rd. You'll see Chattooga River Adventures on the corner and a sign for Oconee State Park (if you cross the SC/GA state line you missed your turn). NOC's Chattooga meeting place is on the right, 2.6 miles after the turn.
From Atlanta -Take I-85 North to I-985 North. Near Gainesville take 365 North to US 441 North into Clayton, GA. Turn onto US 76 east at the Chevron gas station which is across the street from McDonald's. After 8 miles you will cross a bridge over the Chattooga. Continue 2.1 mi past the bridge and turn left on Chattooga Ridge Road. You will see a sign there for Oconee State Park. NOC's Chattooga meeting place is 2.6 miles on the right.
From Greenville, SC -Look for the Clemson Hwy 76 west exit off I-85 South. Follow it to Clemson and turn left onto Hwy 76/123. Stay on 76/123 towards Seneca and then Westminster, SC. Then follow directions from Westminster.
