 DIRECTIONS TO NOC's NOLICHUCKY RIVER OUTPOST
All Nolichucky River trips depart from our Nolichucky River Outpost, located near the North Carolina and Tennessee border off of I-26 just outside of Erwin, TN. 50 miles north of Asheville, NC, 15 miles south of Johnson City, TN.

NOC recommended driving directions to each individual outpost are the easiest and quickest routes on the most clearly marked roads and highways. Please cross-check any GPS, Mapquest, Google, Yahoo, AAA or other online routings with our directions and online maps.
From Johnson City, TN -Take I-26 E. Just beyond Erwin, TN take Exit 40 (Old Exit 15), Jackson-Love Hwy. Go to the stop sign, turn left and then turn right in front of the Riverview Baptist Church. Go 0.7 miles to turn left onto River Road (note: there is a brown and white sign for the Chestoa Recreation Area there). At the next stop sign, turn left onto Chestoa Road. Immediately after crossing the river, turn right onto Jones Branch Road and follow it for 1.2 miles. Make a sharp right, and go past another company's property to reach our NOC Nolichucky meeting place.
From Asheville, NC -From I-240 take exit 19/23N (Future I-26W) toward Johnson City, TN. Cross into Tennessee. Just before Erwin, TN, take Exit 40 (Old Exit 15), Jackson-Love Hwy.
