Payson and Aurelia Kennedy and Horace Holden wanted to share their skills, these beautiful rivers and memorable outdoor experiences with other people. When they founded Nantahala Outdoor Center in 1972, little did they imagine how important this little corner of the world would become. Expert Olympic champions came here to train.
