| 30-Hour Adventure Race Sponsored by Checkpoint Zero .
Attention: The 30-Hour Adventure Race has been cancelled, August 28th, 2006
Adventure Racers, Unfortunately, we are cancelling the 30-Hour Adventure Race due to low(only 4) registration numbers. As the event director, I look to the registration numbers as an indicator of the interest level for the event, so that we may plan properly and acquire the necessary resources for the racer's benefit. By making this call earlier rather than later, allows for the the teams who did sign up to commit to other races and not incur greater expense towards the 30-Hour. Good luck with your racing. Kathy Allison, NOC Events Director Adventure Racer Tim Morris has teamed up with NOC to bring you a value-packed, exciting and beautiful 30 HOUR ADVENTURE RACE in the scenic mountains of western North Carolina. The race offers THREE course options to maximize racers' fun and success: a PRO/ELITE course of 85-90 miles, an INTERMEDIATE course of 70 miles, and a NOVICE short course of 60 miles. This course rocks for experienced adventure racers, and is designed to encourage novice racers! USARA qualifier. There are 6-7 stages total for the pro-elite course and support crews allowed at all transition areas. Post race party and lunch sponsored by Highlands Brewing, great schwag for all racers, prizes in all categories, and cash prizes of $1000, $700, and $500 for top three teams. Each team will consist of three members, and four divisions will comprise the race: Co-ed Elite, Masters and Male and Female teams. Checkpoint Zero will be providing up-to-the-minute results of the event with its new Checkpoint Tracker Web site. There is a $500 per team entry fee. Lodging not included with entry fee, reservations can be made with Fontana Village Resort. |
