Advanced River Rescue

Develop enhanced whitewater rescue skills for yourself and others, and become a river leader.

An intensive and practical one-day river rescue course designed for intermediate to advanced boaters getting into more technically difficult whitewater. This course focuses on getting hands-on quickly by determining what it takes to get there and what to do once you are there. We'll examine common hazards in Class III-IV whitewater; practice boat- and shore-based rescues and practice setting up complex rope systems quickly and effectively. Accident prevention through good group management and trip leading are also highly emphasized during this course. Participants will need Class III boating skills and ability or willingness to walk, wade and climb around on wet rocks.
