Fishing in the Smokies
Guided Fly Fishing, Kayaking Fishing and More
Nothing beats the feeling of a cool stream rushing between your feet, working in rhythm with the current. Cast, mend, drift and set. Hands down, there are few things that compare to the thrill of fly fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains. This year, NOC will offer fishing adventures on world-class trout waters right here in western North Carolina. Our lead fishing guide J.E.B. Hall has more than 15 years experience fishing the area's streams, and is the author of Western North Carolina Fly Guide. J.E.B. is a Bryson City native, with international fly-fish guiding experience. New! NOC Fly Fishing School
Guided Nantahala Fly Fishing Trips at NOCAdding a fishing adventure to your NOC visit is easy. First, decide if you want to float in a raft or wade to fish. Your guide will consider the weather conditions, water levels and seasonal regulations, and then choose a destination from several local streams and rivers. NOC is surrounded by top rated fishing streams including the Delayed Harvest waters of the Upper Nantahala River, the Little Tennessee River, Tuckasegee River and Snowbird Creek. You can expect to catch rainbow trout, brook trout and smallmouth bass.
Kayak Fishing Trips at NOC
Take your fishing to the next level! When you fish the waters of the Great Smokies from a kayak, you can cover more water and set yourself apart from the rest of the crowd, whether you paddle a quiet lake or serene river. NOC now offers full and half-day kayak fishing trips on the Tuckaseegee and Little Tennessee Rivers. Our kayaking fishing guide, J.E.B. Hall can show you techniques for paddling a recreational kayak, for outfitting your boat for fishing and water reading skills that improve your kayak fishing success.
