Skills Check: Intermediate I paddlers can

• perform wet exits with ease.
• say they've successfully performed a flatwater roll in the last year.
• paddle in a straight line on flatwater.
• say they've paddled 5-10 times on whitewater in the last year.
• understand and execute basic ferries, peel-outs and eddy turns.
• be comfortable when their boat is not pointing downstream.
• self-rescue.
