Fun Facts: During his last few years at NOC, Jason has been a jack-of-all-trades. He's worked in our Outfitter's Store, at River's End Restaurant, as a raft guide and as a kayak guide on the Cheoah River. He is a rising star in the Paddling School, teaching kayak courses full-time and the occasional beginner canoe clinic. He has certification from the American Canoe Association, is a Wilderness EMT and is trained in swiftwater rescue, as well.

Jason grew up paddling open canoes and eventually started kayaking in 1997. He was drawn to NOC in 2001. When it comes to paddling, his first love is creeking but he also enjoys playboating and surfing. He also mountain bikes and loves to travel. Being a kayaker and someone who loves to travel are usually two things that go very well together. During his life Jason has kayaked in four countries, with extensive coverage of the rivers of the US. He also helped with The Kayaker's Toolbox instructional DVD which was a 2006 National Paddling Film Festival Award winner.
