Mexico Class III-IV Week for Women & Men

with Anna Levesque & Andrew Holcombe
January 17-24 & February 14-21, 2009
$1550.00
Experience the lush scenery and exhilarating rapids of Veracruz, Mexico under the guidance of two of the world's top paddlers, Dagger Team Members Anna Levesque and Andrew Holcomb.
You'll be based out of the history-rich town of Jalcomulco, a quaint, slow-paced community nestled in the mountains of the Sierra Madre Orientales. The friendly people, aquamarine whitewater, enchanting jungles, and delicious food make Jalcomulco the perfect base of operations for your Mexican adventure.
Don't stay up too late sampling the night life of Zocalo your first evening in Mexico because the next day we're headed to the continuous class II-III Lower Canyon of the Antiqua River. Our second day of paddling will take us to the Actopan River, which is highlighted by an easy 15 ft waterfall. If you've never run a waterfall, this is the place to do it! The next three days will be spent on the Barranca Grande, where we'll encounter the four IV's. These four class IV rapids are quite diverse and range from techincal rapids to big water wave trains to easy slides. Don't wear yourself out too much though on this fun section of whitewater because the last day will be spent creeking on the action-packed Tomata or Alseseca Rivers.
When you're not paddling this week you can participate in a variety of other activities including: yoga, salsa dancing, hiking, or relaxing in a Temazcal sweat lodge ceremony.
