Mexico Novice Women
Learn in a Lush Land
February 7-14, 2009 $1550.00 Experience the lush scenery and exhilarating rapids of Veracruz, Mexico under the guidance of one of the world's top paddlers, Dagger Team Member and Girls at Play Founder, Anna Levesque. Your paddling trip will be based out of the history-rich town of Jalcomulco; a quaint, slow-paced community nestled in the mountains of the Sierra Madre Orientales. The friendly people, aquamarine whitewater, enchanting jungles, and delicious food make Jalcomulco the perfect base of operations for your Mexican adventure. In the Girls at Play Beginner's Course you'll start the day in the pool working on strokes, balance and the roll. The next day you'll put your new skills to the test on an easy section of river on the outskirts of town, followed by an afternoon rolling session in the pool. You'll appreciate working on your hip snap later that evening, while salsa dancing. The next day's adventure will take you to an easy, but fun section of whitewater on the Antigua River between the towns of Apazapan and Cuetzhala. We'll head back to the Antigua River the next two days, refine our skills and maybe paddle more challenging rapids depending on the group's comfort level. Your last day in Mexico will be a memorable one. You'll head to the crystal clear, spring-fed Actopan river to run your first waterfall. Chances are you'll want to run it more than once, but if not, relax in the natural pools above the falls while snacking on delicious Mexican cuisine. Then it's back to Veracruz to celebrate all that you've accomplished this week, and to prepare for the return flight home. |
