About SOLO Southeast Courses

SOLO's famous wilderness training courses are held at NOC's Kleinrath Hall, a custom-built conference center. But don't get too cozy. We have a strong philosophy of hands-on, outdoor learning and real-life scenarios in the challenging environment that surrounds NOC. Our students leave with the ability to interpret emergencies, apply good judgement and execute decisions. SOLO courses teach prevention first, treatment second and emphasize a wilderness ethic of respect and stewardship.

NOC's Wilderness Medicine department is managed by Jonathon Bryant who has more than 10 years experience teaching and leading expeditions in the jungles of the Amazon and Borneo. He is supported by senior instructors JP Bevilaqua and Anne Sontheimer. JP has more than a decade of experience as a wilderness instructor and guide, and is currently training for the US Kayak Team. Anne is one of the nations leading kayak instructors as well as a former ski patroler and veteran adventure travel guide.
