Fun Facts: In a past life Jon was a frontiersman, born with adventure in his heart and a longing for travel that he loves to share. Jon has paddled since he was a kid and it shows in his innate talent in any river crafts. Whether he is in an open boat, CI or kayak, his fluid grace and ease on the river are what all paddlers aspire to attain. As a native of North Carolina, Jon is intimately familiar with almost all of the creeks and rivers in our area.
His passion and dedication to his sport is evident in his position as an NOC Paddle School Assistant Manager and Adventure Travel leader in Chile. Jon is currently building a home on the banks of the Rio Futaleufu in Chile with his wife Samantha. Jon enjoys photography and has taken many of the shots you see in our Paddling School publications. Jon's favorite Paddling School course each year is the Advanced Teen's Week. He is excited to be taking these budding stars on a trip to the Dominican Republic this summer. He has also been instrumental in building the rescue courses for the NOC Leadership Institute.
