Destination: Mexico
Kayak With Anna LevesqueExperience the lush scenery and exhilarating rapids near Veracruz, Mexico under the guidance of two of the world's top paddlers, Team Dagger kayaker and instructor Anna Levesque. Anna first visited Mexico in 1997 and fell in love with the picturesque town of Jalcomulco, a quaint, slow-paced community nestled in the mountains of the Sierra Madre Orientales. The friendly people, aquamarine whitewater, enchanting jungles and delicious food make Jalcomulco the perfect base for our Mexico adventure. The whitewater is amazing and offers something for everyone. Whether you're dropping off the easy waterfalls of the crystal-clear Actopan River, camping amongst the mango and coffee plantations on the multi-day Barranca Grande or playing your way down the wave trains of the Antigua, you're sure to have a memorable time. The whitewater is only half the adventure in Mexico. Anna is also an experienced yoga instructor, so mornings begin with optional yoga classes (followed, of course, by a tasty Mexican breakfast). As the sun sets you'll immerse yourself in the local culture—relax and rejuvenate in the Temazcal sweat lodge, shake a leg in a salsa class, enjoy the nightlife of the zocalo, hike to a natural swimming hole or simply lounge in the hammocks with a cerveza in hand.
