Week-Long White Water Kayak Course

Five-day, Week-long Kayak Course

Five Days to Confidence on the River!

If you've never stepped into a sprayskirt, or if you're looking to master the all-important boof stroke, we'll match you with other paddlers who share your kayaking goals, and instructors who can take you there. Welcome to NOC's Paddling Schoool!

Week-long Whitewater Kayak Course - $999/person

Spend an entire week learning and improving your kayaking skills! No experience is necessary. When you make a reservation for an NOC kayaking course, you'll be asked to complete and return a skill assessment. We'll utilize that assessment to group you with paddlers who share similar goals and whitewater experience. It's that simple: Any level, any week, April through September.

As with all NOC Paddling School courses, everything is included:

  • comfortable cabin lodging
  • hearty meals
  • transportation to and from the water
  • all the top-notch gear you'll need to safely enjoy the river.
Starting Dates: A new week-long program begins every Sunday evening, March 21 through September 12, 2010*
Cost: $999/person
*No week-long clinics are available April 11-16, June 20-25 or July 11-16.

Itinerary

Our week-long whitewater courses begin with a buffet dinner on Sunday night. Here, you'll meet all students and instructors who have come to paddle for the week. These buffet-style meals take place in Relia's Garden Restaurant, just a few steps from your cozy cabin lodging.

Each paddling day will be focused on providing you with the perfect learning experience on the water. Your instructor will help you and your small group progress through the rudiments of whitewater kayaking. Some days will be spent on the lake building rolling skills, while other days, you may travel to nearby rivers other than the Nantahala to build confidence. It all depends on the wishes and abilities of the group.

During the evening, you'll enjoy dinner and perhaps sharing the day's adventures over a pint at The Pourover. Some groups may do a video review of their day's paddling. By week's end, you'll have more confidence on the water and hopefully, some new paddling friends!
