If you have a basic canoe or kayak merit badge, you can get your whitewater merit badge in just two days. Your group will have fun together and build teamwork as they work towards their merit badges. These are custom-designed programs so you can pick which days work for your group.

This course balances useful classroom requirements with whitewater fun! We'll cover the following topics:

The BSA Safety Afloat program.
Safety on land and in the water
Kayak and gear characteristics
Strokes
Paddling skills
Self-rescue and recovery on the river
Scout Gate Test
Recognize river characteristics and hazards
Determine the best way through a rapid
Plan and go on a river trip
