The Great Outpost Bird Hunt

Hey Kids!  Join us at the Great Outpost to find and identify the many birds and species that have taken shelter at the GO.  Pick up a booklet and start the hunt keeping track of the birds you find throughout the store by recording the number in your booklet.  Turn in the completed booklet at the front register for a surprise!     

Butterfly Migration Activity

Every Fall Monarch Butterflies migrate through GSMNP, a critical resource for them on a long journey to their winter home in Mexico. In May, new generations of butterflies return to spend the summer throughout the US.

We invite kids to pick up a G.O. Monarch Butterfly Migration Booklet in the store and learn all about the Monarch’s migration paths while searching the store for hidden butterflies.  Turn in your booklet at the cash registers for a surprise!
