USA freestyle kayaking chooses its National Team on the Nantahala!

RESULTS

The 2013 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships are coming to the 2013 Wave in the Nantahala Gorge, and USA Canoe/Kayak is preparing by hosting their National Team Trials on the same feature. Top paddlers from around the country will converge on Bryson City this April 26-28 to duke it out for their chance to compete at the World Championships this September.

We're planning a great weekend in the Nantahala Gorge, with contests, activities, film screenings and live music that are sure to be a hit with the whole family. Visit the Spring Fling page for more information.

Competitor Information

2013 USACK FREESTYLE TEAM TRIALS REGISTRATION:

• Online registration is $50 for the first class and $5 for each additional class until April 19, 2013. Online registration closes on April 19th.
• Late Registration will take place on Thursday, April 25 at the Event Tent at NOC. A $20 late fee will apply.
• All competitors must be full members in good standing with USA Canoe/Kayak. Click here for USACK membership information.
• Paddlers competing in the Open Class are exempt from USACK membership, but WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to qualify for the 2013 US National Freestyle Team.
• It will take a minimum of 5 boats to make a class. Classes of fewer than 5 competitors may be combined with another class at the organizer's discretion.
• Team River Runner Paddlers and Youth Paddling Team Members will enjoy a discounted $20 entry fee.

Team River Runner @ Team Trials:

Team River Runner is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that gives active duty servicemembers and veterans an opportunity to find health, healing, and new challenges through whitewater boating and other paddling sports.

NOC is excited to host paddlers from Team River Runner chapters from across the region during the 2013 USA Canoe/Kayak Freestyle Team Trials. Spring Fling

Concurrent with the Freestyle Shootout and the 2013 USACK Freestyle Team Trials, NOC's Spring Fling celebrates all of the best things about springtime in the American Southeast! Enjoy free live music and local brews at Slow Joe's Café, check out wares by local artisans, and demo the seasons's hottest new outdoor gear at NOC's Outfitter's Store. There will be plenty of interactive games and contests going on throughout the weekend, and Sunday, don't miss the first evert 8-Ball race on the Nantahala!
