About NOC Adventure Travel

Adventure Travel 1976

Three Decades of International Adventure

NOC has led Adventure Travel trips in more than 20 countries across the globe. It all began in 1976, when NOC offered a rafting trip on the "River of Ruins" or the Usumacinta in Guatemala and Mexico. From then on, NOC would go on to lead trips in rafting, kayaking, hiking, sailing, biking, scuba diving, horse-packing and skiing in a staggering number of locations.

Today, NOC's Adventure Travel department is lead by Jonathon Bryant, and our trips are staffed by professionals with a combined 50 years experience leading adventures abroad. When you book a trip with NOC, you will be provided a packing list, suggested reading and any other information that may pertain to your particular trip.

If you'd like to speak more with us about any of our trips, call 888-905-7238 and we'd be happy to answer any of your questions. Private charter trips are also available upon request to any of our destinations.

NOC's Commitment to Sustainability

With so many years traveling the world in seach of adventure, NOC understands the need for sustainable tourism and we are truly committed to working with communities we visit. We feel that the communities should benefit from our being there and that habitats should not be compromised in the quest for adventure.

NOC’s commitment to environmental practices goes all the way to the top of our company. Sutton Bacon, CEO of NOC is a voluntary member of the board of directors of ‘Leave No Trace’, NOC is currently working towards developing a series of whitewater Leave No Trace guidelines.

At NOC we also seek to develop social sustainability. Travelers not only learn about the destination, they learn about the people, the local culture and how to help sustain its character while deepening their own travel experiences. Our trips are not about travelling in a culturally-sterile bubble of familiarity, we encourage interaction, tasting new foods and joining in with customs and festivals.

Giving back to a local community is essential, hiring local guides and helping to train them in outdoor leadership is a practice we actively promote. We recently trained a group of 10 raft guides in the Dominican Republic, teaching advanced rescue techniques and wilderness medicine. This not only provides a better, safer service for their clients but also helps support and sustain their families and communities.

NOC adventure travel continues to strive toward both cultural and ecological sustainability, encouraging clients to experience and expand upon the true nature of adventure travel.
