Kids Kayak Camp

Kids + Kayaks = Big Boomin' Fun!

NOC's strong tradition of kids whitewater kayaking instruction continues! Some of the kids from our paddling programs have gone on to become Junior Team, US National Team, even Olympic paddlers. Most simply enjoy being active and in the outdoors with other kids for an entire week! NOC's kids paddling programs are for absolute beginners through advanced shredders, age 9 through 17.

Kids & Teens Week Kayak Camp 2010

The Kids Week Kayak Camp is one of NOC's most popular kayaking clinics all year. This summer you have options for your young paddler's standard kids week course:

Students will be grouped by level of experience. This approach will keep paddling friends together that might not be the exact same age, while continuing to provide great instruction and supervision. Like Kids Weeks of the past, campers stay and eat at NOC and participate in other activities like hiking and campfires in the evenings. Supervision is provided by our staff at all times. Friday is still Family Fun Day, where everyone is invited to paddle the Nantahala, to try out new skills and enjoy a day on the river together!

Day Camp Option

NOC will offer a 'Day Camp' option in addition to the same great all-inclusive style packages. The Day Camp option is perfect for families vacationing in the area who already have lodging, or for kids living within convenient traveling distance of NOC. Cost: $699

Specialty Teens Programs

	Teens Advanced Creek Week USA Spend seven days camping and paddling the amazing rivers and creeks of the Southeast with NOC's top instructors! Dates: June 20-25, 2010

	Teens Photo/Kayak Summer School: NOC is working with New River Academy to offer school credit for whitewater kayaking. This three week course includes learning how to shoot and organize digital photos, with a final class project of building a web page to show off your work! Dates: July 11-30, 2010

About Our Kids Programs

NOC has hosted Kids Week Kayaking Camps since 1980. Our focus on safety in addition to a low student-to-instructor ratio gives everyone just the right amount of individual attention for success. We strive to provide our campers with a great sense of personal accomplishment while having a lot of fun. Our instructors are the best in the world at safety and enjoyment, giving kids the most positive river experience possible. Parents are invited to join us for Friday's Family Fun Day and the chance to watch you show off your new skills on the Nantahala River.
