The 16-hour Wilderness First Aid course provides entry-level training for outdoor enthusiasts to prepare themselves for outdoor trips. The SOLO Southeast WFA course covers topics ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment. All instructors have extensive outdoor experience and have been selected not only for their expertise in emergency medicine and rescue, but also for their teaching skills. WFA is a two-year certification that does not include CPR. American Heart Association (AHA) HeartSaver CPR is an optional class that may be taken on the evening of day one. Completion of this WFA class will also re-certify an expired WFR or AWFA qualification.

Advanced Wilderness First Aid (AWFA)
SOLO Southeast's Advanced Wilderness First Aid course provides in-depth information and practical backcountry first aid skills ranging from medical and environmental emergencies to improvising litters and litter-carrying techniques. In AWFA courses, a large emphasis on leadership is combined with plenty of hands-on practice and coaching from a team of highly experienced instructors. This is an intensive, four-day, 32-hour course with AHA HeartSaver CPR certification included.
