This is a continuation of the introduction to survival preparing you to manage your situation after the 72 hour rescue window has passed. With little chance of rescue, it is now your responsibility to get to safety. In this class you will hone the skills already learned and gain new skills to manage the situation for an unknown duration. This is the perfect balance of survival and primitive living skills. "On the Move" revisits and refines all skills acquired from your Intro to WIlderness Survival curriculum and introduces you to:
Advanced natural shelter creation
Making natural cordage
Open fire cooking methods
Maneuvering rocky, steep terrains, and
Navigating safe river crossings.

All coursework requires an average level of physical fitness. The private woodland where courses take place, Hemlock Ridge, is located approximately 1/4 mile from the main NOC campus. It is a steep climb and those unaccustomed to hiking with a day pack under these conditions may find this moderately challenging.
