Chile's: Ring of Fire Intermediate II Kayak / Rafting January 19-26, 2008 $2,050
New! Rafting Adventure Vacations in Chile! A great option for guests who do not kayak to experience the awesome whitewater of Chile.
The perfect trip for the class III whitewater paddler, our "Ring of Fire" itinerary showcases clear whitewater rivers in the Chilean Lake District, a land of unmatched scenic beauty with views of snow capped peaks and smoking volcanoes. We'll spend several days near the town of Pucon, a resort situated on Lake Villarica. Another day or two of paddling and we'll move further south to the Seven Lakes area around the Rio Fuy and Rio San Pedro. We'll spend several days on the shores of Lake Panguipulli, taking advantage of the excellent rivers that drain into the valley. We'll finish our trip on the crystal clear water of the Rio San Pedro which flows out of Lago Ri"ihue over white lava formations. What our guests are saying: I thought the "Ring of Fire" was a fabulous trip. Obviously the setting and the paddling were excellent. The fact that the group -guests and leaders - all got along so well definitely made it a first rate trip. I think it was also significant that both Matt and Jon really enjoy and respect Chile. As an ethnographer/fieldworker I appreciate this attitude. Whitney Sanford From the San Pedro we will head to back to Pucon for our final day together. We arrive in Pucon in time to do some last minute souvenir shopping or hang out on the beautiful black sand beach. Later that day you can board your flight back to Santiago and home. What our guests are saying: This was an excellent trip in every way! Matt's knowledge of the area and his skill on whitewater made this an outstanding experience. Jon is an excellent teacher and a great guide with a quiet but great personality. They both made me feel safe and confident.
