Whitewater Rafting: French Broad River

French Broad River at a Glance

French Broad Whitewater: History & Adventure

The world's third oldest river, the stately French Broad flows through scenic Pisgah National Forest in the mountains of North Carolina. This free-flowing river is ideal for families and young teens, with moderate Class II and III rapids. The full-day trip adds the percussive, Class IV Frank Bell's Rapid, a river-wide, bouncy drop.

We traveled down the French Broad River with Jacob and Mackenzie and we had a very nice time. Jacob was very knowledgable of the river's history and was extremely mindful of our 8-year-old daughter's safety. Thanks again for making our visit special.
