What to Bring/Wear
NOC Provdes the Following White Water Gear:
- Paddle
- Personal Floatation Device (PFD)
- Helmet (not requred by the USFS on the Nantahala River)
- Splash Jacket (and pants, where available)
- Wetsuits (availability depends on which river you raft)
- Check-in Time (arrive half an hour before trip time)
- Reservation Name and Number
- NOC's Phone Number (888-905-7238)
Leave Behind:
- Jewelry and Watches
- Electronics
- Heavy Cotton Clothing like Jeans/Sweatshirts
(these dry slowly and provide no warmth)
- Pets
- Flip Flops. Sandals MUST have a heel strap.

NOC Rafting Photos
On every river trip, a professional NOC photographer captures all the white water rafting action. Unless you have a water-proof camera, leave it at home. You can view and purchase photos after your trip, on online by clicking here.
About Your Responsibilities
NOC makes every effort to run a quality trip, including instruction before and during each trip. It is your responsibility to follow these instructions. You will help paddle on any trip you choose, but some rivers require more strenuous participation. It is your responsibility to evaluate your level of fitness and to select a trip which is appropriate. Seek medical advice if you are pregnant, significantly overweight or in poor physical condition.
Driving Directions
