Cheoah River Rafting Trip Options

Your Cheoah River rafting trip is a half-day activity. All morning trips include the fantastic hot lunch, served dockside at Blue Waters Mountain Lodge, on Lake Santeetlah. Afternoon trips include rafting only. As with all rivers NOC rafts, a 20-minute safety orientation is presented to all guests prior to the trip, and all equipment is provided. Cheoah River Prerequisites

To ensure your safety and the safety of other guests counting on your paddling contributions NOC stipulates that Cheoah guests meet the following expectations:

Guests must have significant Class III rafting experience. The Ocoee, Nolichucky, Chattooga Section IV or comparable rivers from a different area qualify. A guest that has rafted only on the Nantahala, Pigeon, Chattooga Section III or French Broad does not have the required experience. Please be frank about your experience; mistakes on the Cheoah can be very serious.

All participants must be strong swimmers and capable of assisting in self rescue.

All participants must be in shape and able to paddle the duration of the trip. 

The maximum weight for participants is 285 lbs and the maximum BMI is 35.

Guests must be 16 years of age or older.

*Walk-ins are welcome, but to guarantee space on the trip of your choice, we recommend reservations, especially on holidays or weekends.
*Within 30 days of your trip, be prepared to pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

NOC Cancellation Policy

For all rafting trips, except the Cheoah River, cancel at least 14 days prior to the trip and receive a full 100% refund. Cancel 4-13 days prior to the trip and get a 50% refund or 100% NOC Reservation Credit valid through next season. Cancellations made less than 4 days prior to the reservation are non-refundable.

For Cheoah River reservations, cancel 30 or more days out and receive a full refund. Cancel within 14-29 days and get a 50% refund or 100% account credit valued through next season. Cheoah cancellations made less than 13 days before the trip are non-refundable.
